What this supplier checker does

This is a free verification tool for buyers sourcing fresh produce from the Dominican Republic. Enter an exporter's name and it returns a verification score built from public records: US FDA shipping and border-rejection history, Dominican DGII tax-registry standing, ProDominicana registration, and GLOBALG.A.P. certification.

Most buyers vetting a new Dominican supplier rely on what the supplier tells them. The two facts that matter most, whether a company genuinely ships to the US and whether its shipments have been rejected at the border, sit in public US customs and FDA data that is slow and technical to search by hand. This checker reads that data for you and returns a plain answer in seconds.

How the verification score works

The score combines public signals (US FDA activity and border record, Dominican exporter registration and tax standing, and GLOBALG.A.P. certification) into a single 0 to 100 rating with a color band. A recent, serious red flag such as a fresh border rejection forces the red band regardless of how active the exporter is; an old, resolved issue weighs much less.

US shipping activity

Whether the company has FDA-regulated shipments entering the US, how recent the last one is, and how its shipping frequency compares to other Dominican exporters. Drawn from FDA import-entry records.

US border rejections

Whether any of the company's shipments have been refused entry at the US border, with the date, reason, and product. This is the single hardest signal for a buyer to check alone, and the one a supplier will not volunteer.

FDA facility inspections

The outcome of any FDA inspection of the company's facility: a clean pass is a positive trust signal, while official action is a red flag. Most exporters are never inspected, so an absence here is neutral, not negative.

ProDominicana registration

Whether the company is listed in the official Dominican exporters directory published by ProDominicana, the government export-promotion agency. A positive credential; absence is neutral, since many active exporters are not listed.

Dominican tax ID (RNC)

Standing in the Dominican Republic's tax registry (Registro Nacional del Contribuyente), confirming the company is a registered, active legal entity.

GLOBALG.A.P. certification

Whether the exporter is listed in the GLOBALG.A.P. certified-producer database and which products that listing covers, a baseline food-safety credential many EU and US buyers require. The checker confirms the database listing; live certificate status (Certified or Expired) is a planned enhancement.

Frequently asked questions

How do I verify a Dominican Republic exporter before buying?

Enter the company's name in the checker above. It searches public US FDA records and returns whether the exporter actively ships to the US, how recently, and whether it has any border rejections on file, summarized as a verification score. For a full commercial vetting, DominicanSources can arrange a verified introduction to the exporter.

What is an FDA import refusal?

An FDA import refusal is a record of a shipment that was refused entry into the United States, for reasons such as pesticide residue above the legal limit, contamination, or labeling violations. Refusals are public and are a strong risk signal: an exporter with refusals on record has had product stopped at the US border before.

Does a company with no US shipments mean it is not a real exporter?

No. The checker only sees FDA-regulated shipments to the United States. A Dominican company that exports only to the European Union or the Caribbean, or that ships under a different legal name, will not appear, even though it is a genuine, active exporter. Absence of US shipments is not evidence that a company is inactive or fake.

Is this checker free?

Yes. Looking up an exporter and seeing its verification score is free for buyers. The full report, including the detailed signal breakdown, is unlocked with an email. There is no charge to buyers at any point; DominicanSources is paid by the exporters it represents.

Where does the data come from?

Shipping activity and border rejections are drawn from public US FDA records, updated regularly. Tax-registry standing comes from the Dominican DGII registry, and certification status from the GLOBALG.A.P. certified-producer database. The checker reports signals only; it is not legal advice or a guarantee of commercial performance.
